Are coin tubes safe for coins?

Each tube holds a standard roll of coins (without the wrapper). The screw top creates a tight seal for permanent security. The crystal clear polystyrene is an inert plastic and safe when in contact with coins.

Are coin tubes safe for coins?

There is no such thing as a PVC free unplasticized flip.

An unplasticized flip is merely a PVC flip without the plasticizer that makes them soft and flexable.
As a result, unplasticized flips not only offer more rigidity, but are considered safer for coin storage than soft vinyl. This is why some manufacturers will refer to unplasticized flips as “Safe for long term storage”, or even "Archival".  Just remember, when it comes to vinyl flips, the harder and more rigid the flip, the safer it is as a storage solution for your coins.

What is currency collecting and what makes it a popular hobby?

Currency collecting is a hobby where individuals collect and preserve various forms of currency, such as coins, paper money, and other financial instruments. It is popular due to the history, rarity, and cultural significance of the different currencies, and for some collectors, the potential for the collection to increase in value over time. Many collectors have personal interests in history, art, or geography, and enjoy the challenge of acquiring and preserving currency from different countries and eras.

Use acid-free cardboard and plastic holders free from polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Acid and PVC can ruin a coin’s surface. PVC eventually coats a coin with sticky green slime.

For high-value coins, use hard plastic holders. Professional coin grading services use sealed holders called slabs to protect authenticated and graded coins.

Frequently Asked Question

Do you have any question?

Groups of Coins, or Collections are best stored in plastic coin boxes, such as sold by PCGS, NGC and Whitman, and which will hold 20, separated, “slabbed” coins, of any size. Another alternative is a cardboard coin storage box (single and double; red, blue or black), which stack easily on each other.

One of the easiest things you can do is to purchase a shadow box and set it up in such a way that your favorite coin or two are easily visible. You could also opt to purchase a display box.
